Last month, the MaidPro Cares team was dreaming of turning an old barn into a functional dormitory to help the young adults who have aged out of the orphanage program. We are happy to report that just last week a fantastic team of five headed to Belize for one week to assist in this project. Thanks to Franchisees, and MaidPro Cares founders, Dave Buckler, Phil Korte and Greg Ford as well as Home Office staff Lyle Christensen and Richard Sparacio, the dormitory at the Liberty Children's Home in Belize is now just one week away from being move in ready!
The completion of this dorm is a huge success for MaidPro Cares and will enable four grateful teenagers to learn valuable independent living skills as they prepare to enter adulthood.
Along with building the dorm, the founders also assisted in various other initiatives around the Liberty Orphanage. They filled an entire dump truck with debris and used a back hoe to remove tree stumps so that the children at the orphanage could have a soccer field to play on.
Dave Buckler purchased a new basketball rim and net and with the help of some of the kids they put it up.
Dave, Phil, Greg and Lyle also worked their PVC magic to repair the pipes on a leaking water reservoir near the dorm as well as hung up drywall in the new dorm and fixed all of the electrical outlets and wiring in the dorm.
While there, the team also got to see what "a day in the life" is for these children at the Liberty Orphanage; walking them to their bus stop, sitting down to participate in prayer before their meal and playing games with the children.
Their experience was said to be truly humbling and they experienced great warmth and kindness from the people of Belize.
All of this could not have been accomplished without the support and contributions of all of the MaidPro Cares Founders and we Thank each and every one of you for all that you have done and continue to do. A special thank you to Dave, Phil, Greg, Lyle and Richard for giving up a week of their time to really do remarkable work last week.
We have huge hopes for the future of MaidPro Cares and we hope that you will join us in continuing to spread warmth, compassion and love to those in need!
"Two of life's essentials, two of the keys that people need to be fulfilled: a sense of purpose and a sense of legacy. To leave behind something that will continue to influence our world (and Belize specifically) for good. What we've done and will continue to do through Liberty Children's Home will have a generational impact on many lives. Be a part of something worthy: MaidPro Cares."
