Before setting sail on the 2016 Adventure Trip, 22 people (consisting of home office staff and MaidPro owners) participated in a volunteer activity at a local Children's Home in Tortola, British Virgin Islands.

The Rainbow Children's Home houses 4 children ranging in age from 10 to 17 years old. While there, everyone was hard at work cleaning up the flower beds, planting new flowers, rebuilding and painting benches and doing some general cleaning and weeding around the yard.

When the 4 children got home from school, we were able to visit with them and personally hand them the presents we each bought. The huge smiles on their faces when they unwrapped the gifts, which included new shoes, new shirts and pants, socks, various toys, candy and even iPods was truly touching.

After all of that great work, we got to spend some time touring the Autism Center that is located above the children's home. They help people of all ages with autism and the work they do there with so little resources is really amazing. We left there feeling humble for all the things we take for granted every day and so very thankful that we had the opportunity to spend the time learning about their work.

We left the Rainbow Children's Home with a renewed excitement and fulfillment in expanding our MaidPro Cares initiatives to these children in Tortola. After returning home, we have been in contact with the Director to see how we can continue to help them from afar; hiring tutors, providing essential vitamins and cleaning supply packages, providing much needed funds or resources to the Autism Center.
